August 2 – Thirty-four years after serving aboard the USS Albany together while she was stationed in Gaeta, Italy, Fred and Glenn Oliver were reunited today. Glenn and his wife, Debbie, came to join us for lunch and spent part of the afternoon with us here in northern Ohio.
Coincidentally, they used to own an RV just like Charley, so they both shared several tips and were a wealth of information for us. The most useful tip for me by far was showing me the boost button for the TV so we can actually get a signal. For two months now I haven’t been able to get reception on any channel, but now, thanks to Glenn, I was able to watch the Bridgestone Firestone golf tournament that’s taking place just 10 miles away from here. Thanks, Glenn! We hope to see you & Debbie on the road this fall.
